Updated Reel

I know that have been ages since my last update, so to compensate a little bit, here it is my demoreel with my work on Smurfs 2 and Cloudy 2.
Plus a little animation i did just to have fun animating something cartoon :)

Minor update...

Yeap, just to say that after finishing my work on Smurfs 2, project that i enjoyed a lot. I´m going to animate on:

A few changes.....

Wow! It has been more than a year since my last update in this blog.

A few things has changed.

The first thing is that I finished my work as lead animator on Justin & The Knights Of Valour. It has been a very great experience, where i learned a lot of things from some of the best people i ever known. I spent five years working there, and I've grown as animator like in any other place i've worked before.

But life goes on, and I moved to Vancouver to work for Sony Pictures Imageworks, as an animator on the film Smurfs 2. The place is full with talented people and I hope to learn tons of things from them, and maybe, hopefully, put a little bit of me in here.

I hope to write a little bit more in the future...but i cannot promise anything :)

Este es el título del primer corto de Rodrigo Blaas (animador en Pixar), que hace su debut como director.

Tuve la oportunidad de participar en este proyecto, como animador, cuando conocí a Rodrigo, mientras trabajaba en Keytoon.

Ahora mismo en la página web, sólo se puede ver una imagen de la protagonista, y una "review" hecha por Lee Unkrich, director de Toy Story 3!!! ^^

This is the title of a new shortfilm directed by Rodrigo Blaas (Pixar animator)

I had the pleasure to participate as an animator on this wonderful project, almost two years ago, when I met Rodrigo while I was working at Keytoon.

Right now you can see the webpage, with one image of the short and a first "review", made by Lee Unkrich, director of the upcoming Toy Story 3!!! ^^

The Missing Lynx reel

At last the DVD is out in the stores, so I finally can show some of the scenes I did for this movie (the first one I worked ^^)

I did the animation of every character and props in the shots, and the animation was done in 1-2 days with character studio

Death and the Maiden

That's the tentative title of the next shortfilm, that Kandor Moon, is going to release through this year.

Directed by Javier Recio, tells the story of a "not too young maiden" and her meeting with the Death............ sorry, but I don't want to spoil you the story :p

I just finished to animate on this one the last week (right now we're in the preproduction of our next feature film "Goleor: the scales and the sword" )

In the shortfilm, we try to do our best, and I can swear you that the quality of the every aspect of the shortfilm are much better than of the "The Missing Lynx". I'm pretty happy with the animation we did. I learned a lot, and of course I had a lot of fun with these characters

The Missing Lynx

This is the first feature film that I worked on, and finally the first official trailer is up on the web.

Unfortunatelly nothing of my work is showed here (just some inbetweening work done on the lynx, while he is talking with Antonio Banderas), so you will have to wait to the theatrical release :p

11Second Club

Finally, I had some time to make a few changes to the animation that I presented for the September's 11secondclub contest.

I ended the 8th one. Yuhuuuuu!!!. Next time.....better hehehe.

I've made a little improvements on the lipsync, and in some of the poses, for better silhouette.
I've made a basic render, and "voilà"

Testing Riggs

Yeap!! This is a little animation I did to test the new rigg that Iker is doing for the new project at the studio.

It's an early version without all the features, but at this point the rigg is very friendly to work with it.

I can't wait to have the finished rigg, and start to making crazy animations ^.^
