Death and the Maiden

That's the tentative title of the next shortfilm, that Kandor Moon, is going to release through this year.

Directed by Javier Recio, tells the story of a "not too young maiden" and her meeting with the Death............ sorry, but I don't want to spoil you the story :p

I just finished to animate on this one the last week (right now we're in the preproduction of our next feature film "Goleor: the scales and the sword" )

In the shortfilm, we try to do our best, and I can swear you that the quality of the every aspect of the shortfilm are much better than of the "The Missing Lynx". I'm pretty happy with the animation we did. I learned a lot, and of course I had a lot of fun with these characters

The Missing Lynx

This is the first feature film that I worked on, and finally the first official trailer is up on the web.

11Second Club

Finally, I had some time to make a few changes to the animation that I presented for the September's 11secondclub contest.

I ended the 8th one. Yuhuuuuu!!!. Next time.....better hehehe.

I've made a little improvements on the lipsync, and in some of the poses, for better silhouette.
I've made a basic render, and "voilà"

Testing Riggs

Yeap!! This is a little animation I did to test the new rigg that Iker is doing for the new project at the studio.

It's an early version without all the features, but at this point the rigg is very friendly to work with it.

I can't wait to have the finished rigg, and start to making crazy animations ^.^

At last an update......an animation!!!

I know this isn't the most updated blog, but you know..........I'm a busy man (more lazy than busy, hehe)

I finally finished a new animation. I've got the audio from the february contest of 11secondclub, but I could not finish the animation on time, and after a long time waiting, I got some extra time to finish it.

James Baxter......The God.

Oh my god!! I just read this in Victor Navone's blog, and I can't resist to share this with you. The astonishing work, done by James Baxter's studio, on the film Enchanted.

Absolutely inspiring. Seeing this, I only can pray for the return of the good 2d animation, and the classic fairytales.......I just, miss them so much...snifff.

Veggietales

I finally can put online some of the works I did through the last year.

At Keytoon, we made a shortfilm of the famous Veggietales series. This shortfilm is a part of the DVD called "God Made You Special".

It was an interesting project that I think the final product has some really good points, like the illumination, or why not, the animation :P

Ok, some photos.

I did, this last summer, a great trip with my very good friends Dani,Jor,Manu and Sonia. It was awesome all the things we saw there.

We visit in just a week, three big cities. Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.

I just have a few photos, because I lost a lot of them when my computer crashed. But well, at least I have a few of them......

What's going on!!!!????

Yeah......I was lost lately, but I have some excuses ^^

First, I have a new job, as senior animator, at Kandor Graphics, working in my first movie The Myssing Lynx (yuhuuu!!!).

While I was at Keytoon, I learned a lot from my bosses, and workmates, it was an awesome year there. I worked in a very interesting projects and I met a very talented people, thanks to everybody :)

But life's go on, and I moved to Granada (a small but absolutely beautiful city). I enter into an amazing team of people, that work very hard, to make this movie possible. I know we can do it ;)

Tomorrow, or maybe the day after tomorrow :p ....I will update the blog with some new works I did, and maybe with some photos.

Just a Few Updates

Yeap!. Just a minor updates.

I added my last animation into the demoreel, you can see it in my Animations section.

I make a new section with my resume in two formats (pdf and microsotf word)

And finally, I added the links of some friends (Edu & Jor), just take a look ;)

New Animation.

At last I made a new animation!!!........yeah, I know, it's like a miracle :P

At work, I attended a great MasterClass by Dani Peixe. In that classes we have to make a "simple" exercise, and go through the whole process (Idea, sketches, golden poses, 2D animation for preview timing, 3D blocking, and final animation)

The idea, was very simple, we have to animate a guy, that see a box, pick it up, and........well, just take a look ;)

P.D: My opinion? Excellent like always. My only question........ Why the american or european trailers for these movies, are not like the oriental trailers.......they explain much more about the film, and makes you a more clear idea how the film will be?.

Ratatouille Test.........

Maybe some of you, have seen this test before, but I have to put it here.........because is soooooooo good!!

I'm fascinated again, by the guys of Pixar (this time, it seems that the "guilty" of this animation has been Doug Dooley). It's a little test of pantomime to test some characters of the next Pixar film (it seems that this character is called "Emile"). In the video we see, that they warn us, that the animation is rough, but................man, I want to animate like this "rough animation"!!!!!!!!! XDDDDD

The Grandfather Of Soul

At last, we can show you, the short film in which we putted all the efforts these last months.

I have not participated directly on this, but you can see the great effort that my workmates putted in this little piece of animation.

New spanish films....

Seems like Filmax Animation is growing a lot in the last few years. They start with a decent film "El Cid, The Legend", and since then, they don't stop to produce and create one film after another.

Their new films, for the upcoming years, are very interesting products, and two of them in 2D!!!! (arrghh, I was praying for the return of the 2D animation, and seems like the guys of Filmax heard me....... ^_^ )

Mr.Collieu ----> Form the directors of Nocturna. The story seems very original, and the animation is pretty well done, plus the awesome design of the characters. I can't wait to see this movie.









And the Trailer

Nocturna, will be the first of this films, in to be released, hopefully. I love the design of the characters, and the animation. So, I hope, that this film wiil be a hit in the theaters.

The last of the films, Filmax is producing, is Donkey Xote. They show us the typical story, told through the eyes of Rucio (Sancho's donkey). This time the film will be in 3D, and in the trailer, they show us a very beautiful backgrounds, hopefully, the story will be good as well.

Flushed Away.

At last this movie has been released in my country, here they call it "Ratonpolis"............I've never understood why in my country translate the titles of the movies in this weird way.............

Well, I left the theater with a big smile in my face, because this time the movie is good, very good. The principal mistake in this animated movies is the story. But this time we are talking about Aardman, and like in Wallace & Gromit, the story is simple, but is told in a marvelous way. I never thought, that the movie is boring or not interesting, nooooooooo, the movie is full of ingenious and ironic gags, and I was hooked for the full movie. The characters are very well definite, and I loved the character of Rita, an independent but very charming character, I simply loved it. The funniest character/s for me were without doubts, "Le Frog", and his gang of frogs, they were simply awesome characters with the most funny animation I see in the last year. :)

In the other hand, the slugs (the characters that Dreamworks sold us as the "funny" characters of the movie)..............well, for me they are funny, the first two times that they show us, but the other 100 times they are............I don't know...........typical??..........well, I guess it's me....but I don't like them.

The technical aspects.........blowed me away. The animation is awesome, full of marvelous poses for the characters, and they catch, very good, the "stop-motion" style for the body and the lipsync. Very good work :)

In a few words........The movie is a very good movie......for me is better than "Ice Age 2", "Over The Hedge" and "Open Season", and funnier, but not better, than "Cars" (sorry, I'm a "pixar-freak".... ^_^)

If you have the opportunity, don't lose it, and go to see it on theaters, I can swear you, that you are gonna have a very good time ;)
